About Me

I am a catalyst, helping people move from being stuck to unstuck.

After receiving my masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing in 1973, I began working as a therapist in an outpatient clinic while studying couple and family therapy at the Family Institute of Chicago.  I went on to teach psychiatric nursing at Rush University, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1977, where I worked in a community mental health clinic for five years.  During that time, I also began a private practice of individual, couple, and family therapy.  Since 1982, I have been exclusively in private practice.

I highly value personal as well as professional development and have attended a multitude of classes, seminars, workshops, and trainings over the years.  Thus, my background is eclectic and integrative.  I’ve had training and experience in traditional and non-traditional forms of psychotherapy and healing such as:  psychodynamic psychotherapy, brief solution focused therapy, couple and family therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), hypnosis, gestalt, imagery, behavior modification, cognitive behavioral, spiritual and transpersonal therapies, humanistic and experiential therapies, somatic therapy, stress reduction, ego state therapy, inner child work, energy therapies, breathwork, positive resourcing, shamanic and family of origin work.

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, that is translated through you into action,
and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost."
